Anjan Ghosh

Short Biography

Anjan Ghosh's research spans the anthropology and history of informal modes of communication in South Asia. He is also interested in inequality and violence and in issues of unequal development. Current research is on rumour and communal violence in South Asia as well as urban public culture. He is presently a Fellow at the Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta. He has published in Review, Journal of Southern African Studies, Economic and Political Weekly, and edited with Partha Chatterjee: History and the Present (Delhi: Permanent Black, 2002).
